People Convention

Steve & Julia are the citizens of United States of America. Now that both conventions are over, they explore the possibility of another convention, that is, People Convention.

Hey Steve, what is that video, you are watching?

Hi Julia, it is Bernie Sanders speech video.

I had watched his DNC speech live.

No. This is his private video. Bernie was talking to his volunteers.

Well, this isn't exactly the party I'd planned, but I sure like the company.

And I want to start today by saying how grateful I am to all of you, to everyone who poured your hearts and your hopes into this campaign, who drove for miles and lined the streets waving homemade signs, who scrimped and saved to raise money, who knocked on doors and made calls, who talked, sometimes argued with your friends and neighbors, who emailed and contributed online, who invested so much in our common enterprise, to the moms and dads who came to our events, who lifted their little girls and little boys on their shoulders and whispered in their ears, "See, you can be anything you want to be."

You have inspired and touched me with the stories of the joys and sorrows that make up the fabric of our lives. And you have humbled me with your commitment to our country.

Eighteen million of you, from all walks of life - women and men, young and old, Latino and Asian, African American and Caucasian - rich, poor, middle-class, gay and straight, you have stood with me.

And I will continue to stand strong with you every time, every place, in every way that I can. The dreams we share are worth fighting for.

I entered this race because I have an old-fashioned conviction that public service is about helping people solve their problems and live their dreams. I've had every opportunity and blessing in my own life, and I want the same for all Americans.

And until that day comes, you'll always find me on the front lines of democracy, fighting for the future.

The way to continue our fight now, to accomplish the goals for which we stand is to take our energy, our passion, our strength, and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama  Hillary Clinton, the next president of the United States.

Today, as I suspend my campaign, I congratulate him on the victory he has won and the extraordinary race he has run. I endorse him and throw my full support behind him.

Now, I understand that we all know this has been a tough fight, but the Democratic party is a family. And now it's time to restore the ties that bind us together and to come together around the ideals we share, the values we cherish, and the country we love.

We may have started on separate journeys, but today our paths have merged. And we're all heading toward the same destination, united and more ready than ever to win in November and to turn our country around, because so much is at stake.

You know, I've been involved in politics and public life in one way or another for four decades. And during those 40 50 years, our country has voted 10 12 times for president. Democrats won only three five of those times, and the men who won two of those elections is Bill & Obama are with us today.

This election is a turning-point election. And it is critical that we all understand what our choice really is. Will we go forward together, or will we stall and slip backward?

To those who are disappointed that we couldn't go all of the way, especially the young people who put so much into this campaign, it would break my heart if, in falling short of my goal, I in any way discouraged any of you from pursuing yours.

Always aim high, work hard and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep faith. And, when you're knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can't or shouldn't go on.

Although we weren't able to shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling this time, thanks to you, it's got about 18 million cracks in it, and the light is shining through like never before, filling us all with the hope and the sure knowledge that the path will be a little easier next time.

So I want to say to my supporters: When you hear people saying or think to yourself, If only, or, What if, I say, please, don't go there. Every moment wasted looking back keeps us from moving forward.

Life is too short, time is too precious, and the stakes are too high to dwell on what might have been. We have to work together for what still can be. And that is why I will work my heart out to make sure that Senator Obama Secretary Clinton is our next president.

And I hope and pray that all of you will join me in that effort.

Denying an opportunity to participate in the general election is unconstitutional action. Equal opportunity is given to all candidates. Bernie could had been the Independent Presidential Candidate as he always have been Senator (I)

That's true. Even now, Democrats party doesn't allow Bernie to use the label (D); Bernie Sanders (D) Democratic Senator.

Good that Bernie didn't deliver this speech in the DNC.

Why? Would that be a problem?

Yes. It is plagiarism. It was Hillary Clinton glass-ceiling speech. Had Bernie delivered this speech in DNC, it would had become trending hashtag in Twitter.

Oh! Only Hillary has the rights for glass-ceiling!

Will it be considered as plagiarism if Hillary use the glass-ceiling in her speech?

No. But why does she use it again? Hillary won the nomination.

May be in November 2016, Hillary may have to use the glass-ceiling reference in her speech. Yes, I broke the Democratic family glass-ceiling; perhaps Michelle Obama would break the outer glass-ceiling and would make history.

So, one woman would make way for another woman!

No way! Do you think Michelle Obama would be happy if Hillary becomes the president? Every woman wants to make history. One woman doesn't want another woman makes history.

During the convention, US Constitution was trending. Not only Donald Trump, everybody needs to read the US Constitution.

Why? Is there anything new in the Constitution?

No. The fact is, we don't follow the Constitution!

How do you say that? We, the people elect the President of United States.

No. People do not elect the President.

Electoral College

530 Electors elect the President.

Who are they? Who gave the authority to those 530 electors? Are they Senators and House of Representatives?

No. They are not Senators. In fact, you may not even heard their names. Those 530 unknown persons elect the President of United States. If anyone could win the hearts of 530 electors, that person could become the President.

In the last election, how did you vote? Did you vote for Obama or Mitt Romney?

The fact is, you didn't vote for neither of them or for any other presidential candidates. You voted for California Electors; those 55 unknown persons.

Who are those 55 unknown persons?

530 Unknown Persons

In California, do you know Alisha Aguilar, Karen Chang, Anu Natarajan, Michael Ray and others? They elected Barack Obama on your behalf.

But, who gave the authority and by what means?

You; you, the people gave the authority.

If I give the authority, I should know. As citizen, if I have to elect the Electors, then I want to see those names in the ballot.

That is not possible. Each candidate would have 55 electors. You cannot have 55 democrats electors; 55 republican electors; 55 electors from each presidential candidates.

Either we should follow the constitution; or we should amend the constitution; we cannot continue with this kind of interpretation.

Let this 2016 election be the true reflection of the constitution. Let us have the ELECTORS in the ballot; not those Presidential Candidates. It doesn't make sense.

If we, the people don't have the authority to elect the President, then let us not have the names of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the ballot. Let us have the names of those 55 electors; they cannot be UNKNOWN persons.

US Constitution is not clear about the process of Electing the President of the Executive Branch. Many have been victims of this confusion. It may cause more confusions in the future. It is time to fix the Constitution.

Who are the victims?

Al Gore is top in the list. All those drop-out candidates would participate in the convention.

Another convention?

Yes. Let it be People Convention. Let all those citizens of United States participate in the process. They may get a place in the history as Founding Mothers and Fathers of Modern United States of America.

People in Silicon Valley would start a meet-up to discuss about fixing bugs in the Constitution. Let the meet-up be, People Convention (Silicon Valley)

Likewise, there would be

  • People Convention (Hollywood)
  • People Convention (Portland)
  • People Convention (Seattle)
  • People Convention (Las Vegas)
  • People Convention (Florida)
First, challenge the current constitution. Go to Supreme Court and ask for the names of the Electors in the ballot instead of those Presidential Candidate.

Then, the ballot would not have names of Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton or Mike Pence or Tim Kaine or Ted Cruz or Carly Fiorina.

Let the people know who are those 530 Electors and let people elect with total and complete transparency.

Then all those investments of time, resources, volunteers and money for those primaries and conventions - all go waste in the drain.

Let us stop interpreting the Constitution. At least once, let us follow the constitution word by word. If people need to elect the Electors, then let us just elect the Electors.

Let us have the names of all those electors participating in the process. Those 55 California Electors do matter. They do play such an important role in the Constitutional process; they cannot be unknown. People need to know who are those 55 California Electors; and their character; and their integrity.

Who actually elects the president of the United States?

When voters go to the polls on Election Day, they do not vote directly for a presidential candidate. Instead, they cast their votes for a slate of electors who have been given the authority by the United States Constitution to elect the president and vice president. The electors are known collectively as the Electoral College. At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, delegates debated the manner in which the president of the United States was to be elected. Some argued that the Congress should select the president, while other proposals recommended election by the people, the governors of the states or state legislatures. A compromise was reached in what became known as the Electoral College. Technically, it is these electors, and not the American voters, who elect the president.

It's time. Let people know the fact. Let people elect those 530 Electors with total transparency.

Otherwise, let us fix the constitution.
